Nick Massari
Vice President, STARS Athletic Mindset
As a student of the game and an operator of one of the largest youth sports facilities in the country, Nick realizes the importance of mental health and development in student-athletes. He has a passion for advancing players’ level of play while teaching life lessons through sports that can help shape young athletes into productive members of society. His vision with Athletic Mindset Services is to empower the minds of athletes early on in their career so they can reach their full potential both on and off the field!
Nick was a graduate of Hamilton High West High School in Trenton, NJ where he starred as a shortstop, accumulating 127 hits in his four-year stint. He went on to play at Monmouth University where he capped off his senior yearhitting .395 in 2006, the sixth best single season average in school history, while his 210 hits still rank in the top-15 in the program. He is the all-time triples leader in Monmouth history with 13.The 2006 NEC Player of the Year, Massari was an All-Northeast Conference First Team selection in 2006 after earning Second Team honors in 2004 and 2005. He was named the 2006 District II Player of the Year in addition to being named All-East Region and NJ Player of the Year.
Upon graduation, Nick played professionally for the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League in Pittsburgh, PA, until 2008, but soon realized that a career path to the major leagues was unlikely. Fortunately, during his senior year at MU he took a lead role in his Business Entrepreneurship class that led to a full-time position with Nanina’s in the Park Catering in Belleville, NJ. He was the Director of Operations for their newly founded Italian food company and was responsible for placing their products on the shelves in over 500 tri-state area supermarkets. After four years at Nanina’s, he was presented an opportunity with the newly constructed Diamond Nation in Flemington, NJ. This gave him a chance to fulfill his passion for both business and baseball. Nick started as the Assistant GM in 2009, was promoted to General Manager in 2015, and was further promoted in 2021 to his current position as Executive Vice President. As EVP, Nick is focused on the structure and growth of the company, management of directors, and the writing of policy and procedure. He works alongside the ownership group to create and execute Diamond Nation’s current and future business objectives, as well as assisting the other corporations within the Cust Investment portfolio.
